LAHORE: Mobile app-based car-hailing service Careem inked a resource sharing agreement with Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), aiming to create job opportunities for 100,000 unemployed youth in the transportation sector, technology media platform TechJuice reported on Friday.
The agreement was finalised on Thursday between TEVTA Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh and Careem Networks Pakistan CEO Junaid Iqbal, following which the process was formally initiated. Under the agreement, TEVTA will provide training and hands-on experience to 100,000 unemployed youth for over a span of three years.
TechJuice reports training of the individuals will be carried out at TEVTA institute and covers driving skills, road safety, and basic Arabic language skills. Applicants above 21 years of age and holding a secondary school certificate would be able to apply and a stipend will also be provided during the training period.
